According to Sheldon's theory, there are three primary somatotypes: endomorphs, mesomorphs, and ectomorphs. Arrhenic falls under the ectomorphic category.
An arrhenic individual is usually characterized by a linear and slender body structure with narrow shoulders, long limbs, and a lean appearance. They often have a thin build with minimal muscular development. Their joints and bones tend to be visible due to a lack of adipose tissue. Arrhenics typically have a high metabolic rate, making it easier for them to maintain a low body weight.
Although somatotyping is primarily based on physical characteristics, it often correlates with certain personality traits and behavior patterns. Etymology of ARRHENIC
The word "arrhenic" derives from the Greek adjective "arrhenikos" (ἀρρηνικός), which originated from the noun "arrhēn" (ἄρρην). "Arrhēn" means "male" or "masculine" in Greek. The suffix "-ikos" in Greek is used to form adjectives, meaning "related to" or "pertaining to". Therefore, "arrhenikos" literally translates to "pertaining to males" or "of or relating to masculinity".
